Chris Gayle has asked openly for out a TV presenter in a post-innings interview

Chris Gayle has gone under serious feedback, online and something else, for transparently asking out a TV moderator in his post-innings meeting amid Melbourne Renegades' Big Bash League experience against Hobart Hurricanes on Monday (January 4).

Subsequent to contributing a quickfire 41 off 15 balls to Renegades' pursuit of 141, Gayle, on his way back to the hole, was asked for a meeting by Channel 10 correspondent Mel McLaughlin. The meeting, being broadcast live, rapidly went off track when the West Indies' star inquired as to whether she might want to go along with him for a beverage later. Indeed, even before McLaughlin had an opportunity to answer, Gayle included, rather shamelessly, "don't redden, child."

McLaughlin got over the proposition with a somewhat stern answer, "I'm not becoming flushed", before Gayle dismissed the occurrence.

After the diversion, the BBL boss Anthony Everard issued an official articulation saying that Gayle's remarks were "discourteous and essentially unseemly".
